Warming Essential Oil Blend Recipe

As we age, our circulatory system may not function as efficiently as it did in our younger years. Consequently, some individuals may experience discomfort from feeling excessively cold during the winter season. Some folks get the winter chills regardless of their age even with good blood circulation. There can be several possible causes of feeling chilled in addition to poor circulation. Thyroid imbalance, low blood sugar, vitamin B12 deficiency and infection can contribute to this sensation of coldness. You can check with your doctor for testing of these possible causes. For essential oils for specific issues such as these, contact me.

This blend is a general formulation designed to enhance circulation and provide warmth. It is an ideal solution for snowy days and chilly nights, offering both practical benefits and a pleasant aroma.

  • 8 drops black pepper (Piper nigrum) essential oil

  • 16 drops ginger (Zingiber officinale) essential oil

  • 12 drops cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum) essential oil

  • 2 oz sesame oil (you can use any carrier you prefer though I recommend sesame for its circulation promoting properties)

Mix all ingredients and store in dark colored glass container.  Apply an almond-sized amount to abdomen 2-3 times a day or as needed. The abdomen is one of the best places to get essential oils into the body. This recipe is a 3% dilution rate of essential oils to the carrier oil.
